1915 Interlaken Drive E, Seattle | Offered at $4,738,000

4 Bedrooms · 4 Bathrooms · 7,253 sqft

FROM THE WEBSITE: “Interlaken Drive Manor comes from a long line of incredible, boundary breaking women: Elizabeth Ayers, purchased The Boulevard Inn in 1930 and redesigned it as her private residence. She was the first female architect in Washington State. Ann Wilson, the other famous owner of the property, was a singer in the Billboard-topping band Heart; both Ann and her sister Nancy were the first women rock stars to write their own songs, sing and play their own instruments. She purchased the home in 1980, adding her own sense of style to the home, including the name over the front door: Ol’ Yeller."

Enter the challenge.

Ann Wilson named this gorgeous property “Ol’ Yeller” -there’s a story behind it, and its highlighted in the signage that still hangs over the front door. The owner and the broker wanted to highlight the story of Ann Heart’s home, and we ran a campaign under the homes’ current title. In the meantime, the market took a turn and the home remained on the market.

The challenge became, how to highlight the updates of the home, wrap it in the spectacular history and showcase the heart of the home. (*pun totally intended.)

Our solution: Timing is everything.

Partnering with an incredible logo artist and forward thinking friend, she and I found in our research that this home had a feminine heart all along. It had been woman-owned since before a time when that was even remotely culturally appreciated, and inspired some of the most incredible women throughout its rich history. And here we were again, finding our words and design from the very soul of the home.

With all of the political unrest and upheaval in the very bones of the women in our wonderful state, this home stood quietly, a hidden sanctuary, like so many of us. Needless to say, we fell in love.

New Branding, Interlaken Drive Manor

New Branding, Interlaken Drive Manor

The home was successfully rebranded as the Interlaken Drive Manor, and we made a point to walk through and highlight the history of the property. The response was quiet pleasing. At the time of this writing, Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty has already reached out to their extensive client list, and we’ve also heard the response from Ann Wilson herself:

“It shows the exquisite beauty of the space and the land to perfection!”
— Ann Wilson, Heart
