Designing for Success

Connecting with clients is always a challenge, and when it comes to real estate you need to connect in a unique way. You need to know the market, know your clients, and bring your “A” game to every conversation. But when it comes to marketing and design, not everyone has a clear concept of what they are looking for, but they know it needs to be amazing.

This is where I come in.

Meet Jesse

I am a graphic designer with experience collaborating with real estate agents, marketing managers, copywriters, web developers, photographers and designers, to translate marketing and brand strategies into elegant solutions for print, social and digital media. I have extensive expertise in successfully creating dynamic marketing collateral under tight deadlines and tight budgets. I strive to offer my clients outstanding customer service, while thinking outside the box and connecting marketing collateral from every angle.

Sounds fancy, right? Luxurious writing can make a home sound great or a designer sound superb, but getting right down to brass tacks, here's what you need to know:

  • My dream is to design one of everything.

  • I love love LOVE when I get to play with beautiful homes.

  • I speak Real Estate Agent. (fluently.)

  • I am a hoot and a half to work with.

  • I'm here to make you look good and help you with your business.

  • I've been working with Real Estate Agents for more than seven years, which means that I am a designer who understands the real estate market and the agents who keep it moving.

Making the Connection.

LUXE.

Just the word can conjure images of opulence and extravagance. It’s the sparkle of gold, the shimmer of glitter, and the allure of decadence. It’s about elevating experiences, indulging senses, and creating unforgettable moments. Everything, and everyone needs a little dash of luxe now and again. And this is exactly why your client called you.

ART.

Art is another great way to start a paragraph or a conversation. Especially in a bold font. And if there's italics after it? Good heavens,  people will come 'a running. And this is why you have me. Because while it truly is an art to see beauty and potential in every home, it takes much more than that to tell the story. It's my job to showcase those homes - and you - in a way that truly honors both the heart and the bones of each home that you connect with their new owner.

HEART.

It really does take more than a sign to make a sale, and more than a kitchen to turn a house into a home. It takes memories, and love and quiet moments around the grill that somehow caught fire. Or the scuff on the wall where the youngest child refused to hit the bottom step on the way down. It takes heart. It's love, pure and simple. I'm here to help you tell the stories that make a house a home.

CONNECTION.

I'm also here to help you. From powerpoints to postcards. From listing presentations to email campaigns. I am a graphic designer with a passion for real estate (which sounds super fancy, but what I really mean is that I drool over gorgeous homes anyway, but this way I get paid to do it.) I have extensive experience in marketing for the real estate industry; this is my wheelhouse. Please consider me your personal concierge through the somewhat daunting task of marketing a luxury home.

Who Are You?

“The Caterpillar and Alice looked at each other for some time in silence: at last the Caterpillar took the hookah out of its mouth, and addressed her in a languid, sleepy voice.

‘Who are YOU?’ said the Caterpillar.

This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, ‘I — I hardly know, sir, just at present — at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.’”

Estimated Cost: $350 - $550
+any printing costs

I just finished working with Jesse on a new logo and website for my real estate business. From our first meeting, Jesse just completely understood who I was and what I was looking for, even when I sometimes couldn’t articulate it well myself. The finished product was more than I could have imagined and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to work with her! Jesse is a class act all the way. Looking forward to more projects together in the future!

Just a quick Thank You for helping me develop the look and feel for both of my companies and pushing our marketing to the next level. You have ‘killed it’ in building both of our web sites! You’ve made our marketing pieces ooze luxury and style yet always with a down to earth feel that brings comments like, “Best brochure I’ve ever seen!” and “Wow, I love the feel of your web site!”

It’s just a pleasure to work with you and I can’t wait to see where we are going to take this next round of marketing together! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!

Hi, I actually don’t need anything at all, I just wanted to tell you that the Doghaus Brewery website you did, is by far the most interesting website I’ve seen in forever. The landing page made me smile but what was the kicker was the submit button on the contact page.

Thank you for that experience. You’re a rock star.

Working with Jesse Gibbs has been a true pleasure. I began working with Jesse at Sotheby’s and I was thrilled that she is now working freelance. Jesse put together my listing presentation and my buyers presentation. Her work is incredible. She customized the presentation to my exact specifications and offered great insight on how to improve on my request. She also went out to my website and social media where she offered great suggestions on expanding my online presence.  I have decided to use her for my social media accounts as well.
I have been looking for a graphic designer for over a year. It’s hard to find some one who is not only excellent at design but also understands the real estate industry. With Jesse you get both! I am happy to refer Jesse Gibbs. This lady is top notch!

Why the Ampersand?

According to Wikipedia (and why would the internet lie to a person?)

"The ampersand can be traced back to the 1st century A.D. and the Old Roman cursive, in which the letters E and T occasionally were written together to form a ligature. During the following development of the Latin script that led up to the Carolingian minuscule (9th century) the use of ligatures in general diminished. The et-ligature, however, continued to be used and gradually became more stylized and less revealing of its origin..."

...yeah, this is kind of where I stopped reading. Sorry, but I was tired. Essentially what it says is that the ampersand was created because of the inability to take the time to write out the E and the T as their own letters, so they were smooshed together and no one ever thought to change it back. So, laziness, in its own way, created an exceptionally beautiful graphic piece that I am madly in love with.

I also chose it as my logo mark because in the real estate industry there's always one more thing we can do to rock someone's entire world...so we start with branding. AND then we build a website featuring the home, with interior and exterior highlights...AND then we create a marketing campaign through emails, blogs and event....& it goes on. So many wonderfully creative ways to get heard in a media heavy world. AND we've only just begun.
